RQG 217 Anxiety Report

Continuing this series from the last few weeks, and the title is more fitting than ever because I am definitely very anxious about everyone. To repeat: I’m basically ranking RQG characters by how worried I am about them after any given episode, based my own personal concerns and whatever I can remember of the episode while writing this.

Unfortunately there is once again the risk of dragon fire so I have adjusted my ranking accordingly. 😔 These are the characters I’m most worried about:

10. Cel (last episode: 10)

Cel still has their 120 temporary hp against fire, so I’m not too worried about them getting hurt by Guivres, but I AM worried about Cel being terrible at will saves and the DC appearing to be 25. If we get more blasts of 40 psychic damage or worse that will bypass the temporary fire hp completely. Then again Cel started with 100+ so they’re not doing too badly even now.

9. Wilde (last episode: unlisted)

Wilde’s fine. His temporary hp against fire have all been used up by Guivres’ attack, but I suspect he may have something up his sleeve from whatever Alex had him do while invisible. Then again maybe he was just hovering close to Zolf and he is pretty squishy without the buffs, so One Fear.

8. Azu (last episode: 4)

Even with Azu having high hit points she shouldn’t take a dragon breath to the face again because Azu is sort of rubbish at reflex saves, ESPECIALLY with the -2 penalty to dexterity that comes from being huge. Hamid’s lucky halfling trait only works once a day and I don’t think Alex would let him human shield her. :( Please don’t get hit by a dragon, Azu.

7. Hamid (last episode: 8)

Hamid could probably take another dragon fire breath with his resist energy going strong, but no more than that. More worryingly, he may fill the will save and get lots of psychic damage that he can’t use the temporary hp for. Also I just KNOW Hamid will try to do something reckless to draw Guivres away again and I am scared for him.

6. Apophis (last episode: 5)

What does ‘overwhelmed’ mean Alex?? Is he down and unconscious or are they holding him down by piling on him? He does have a high AC presumably so it can’t be easy to hurt him and it sounds like the blue veins just wanted to get Guivres away from him, but I am concerned. I want him to be alive to have conversations with people (Hamid).

5. Einstein (last episode: 2)

Einstein is awake!! Yay! And unfortunately probably only 8 hp or 15 hp at best, which means that if they fail the will save an there’s another burst of 40 psychic damage it means he may die of a headache or something. :(

4. Carter (last episode: 6)

Poor Carter got hit the worst of everyone by the psychic damage and then ended up just outside the range of Azu’s healing. He clearly doesn’t have a great will save (or Alex rolled badly) because he got hit both rounds. Also one puff of fire from Guivres and it’s probably over for him, but I suppose we must hope Guivres will focus on the device.

3. Guivres (last episode: 9)

MORTALLY WOUNDED OH NO 😱 I was legit in distress and also how does it work?? is it because the Vengeance is still inside her? Is she Bleeding? Maybe we can get Ed to heal her like he did that snow leopard 😔 it’s just as bad an idea as it was in that side quest but I do want her to be alive at the end of the battle

2. Skraak (last episode: 1)

My precious kobold, dearest Skraak, please show us some sign of life. I am begging on hands and knees for you to make a surprise appearance in the finale but I am Concerned.

1. Zolf (last episode: 3)

He’s on fire so like, that’s not great. I didn’t get how the hp exchange with Babbage went, but Ben said he was unconscious, which is definitely suboptimal. On the plus side Wilde might have something up his sleeve? But I’m really hoping Zolf will live and worried that he might not. 😰

BONUS: Me

There’s only the finale left now, how am I going to handle this show being over?? 😢 I know we have epilogues but like, what if they’re only 20 minutes each?? What if Guivres dies my faves die and I’ll be sad?? What if Alex accidentally TPKs them in the last episode? many worries
